For years the coffee is one of the great questioned, what is good or bad? that is the question that have tried to respond hundreds of research dedicated to the study of coffee and caffeine.

The United States is one of the major consumers of coffee in the world, the 54 percent of the people Americans are habitual drinkers of coffee. More than 140 billion of cups of coffee consumed annually in that country, and I am sure that in other than in other countries the figures also are very high.

For years have questioned the benefits of this drink and linked to problems such as insomnia and gastrointestinal difficulties. The caffeine is in your body by more than 12 hours, which makes it difficult for you can sleep and also affects the quality of your rest. On the other hand caffeine also functions as a diuretic and in the case of the drinking coffee with very often this can lead to the dehydration.

These are some of the reasons that suggest that the tea is better than the coffee in relation to health. However, a recent study suggests that the coffee drinkers are at a lower risk of developing liver cancer and colon, as well as type 2 diabetes and Parkinson’s disease.

The coffee contains antioxidants, this is one of the components healthy this drink that also occurs in the fruits and vegetables, in the tea, in the red wine and chocolate. On the other hand one of the benefits of coffee is affecting the hormones that are released naturally to control the feeling of fullness and hunger.

During the 2008 a study by the University of Madrid concluded that those who drink coffee have a minor irrigation of death that people who do not drink coffee. But, it must be clarified that the realization of this studies other variables such as the socio-economic level and a healthy lifestyle also were evaluated in reaching this conclusion.

The researchers recognize that there are still many investigations by performed to determine if the coffee is “good or bad,” so far all investigations take as a reference short periods of time, so that will have to study the long-term effects.

On the other hand remains to be clarified the discussion “coffee vs. tea”. At the moment, my recommendation is to continue smoking a cigarette with restraint; this same applies to all meals and drinks, while they are consumed in the form average nothing is as bad or as good.

People who consume large quantities of coffee a day were more likely to have headaches than those who take it occasionally, say experts from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU, its acronym in English) from the results of their study, which was published in the Journal of Headache Pain ‘.

Those responsible for the study, involving 50,483 people, found that the frequency of migraine headache was not more common in people who drank more coffee – more than 500 milligrams a day – than those who drank less than 125 milligrams coffee.

However, experts noted that there is no reason “obvious” to think this, because low consumption of caffeine is also associated with the chance of developing chronic headaches for 14 days or more each month. In this sense, the experts indicated that, since it is difficult to explain why chronic pain was less common among people with moderate consumption, nuanced one possibility is that drinking coffee helps to change the chronic pain in one uncommon.

But it adds that it is equally possible that people with this problem have reduced their caffeine intake because their properties have experienced that power the headache and on the other hand, individuals with unusual pains are not aware of that High doses of caffeine could be the cause.
