According to a new study by the Center for Cancer Research in Ireland, published in British Journal of Cancer, the curry has the potential to kill cancer cells. For years now he had some healing powers attributed to this compound. For this reason it has been used to treat certain diseases such as arthritis or dementia.
An extract found in turmeric, a spice used in Indian cuisine with their characteristic yellow curry, could be used for new treatments against this disease.
In this study, the researchers treated esophageal cancer cells with curcumin. They found that this extract began to kill cancer cells 24 hours later. Read the rest of this entry »
